Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts serves more than 41,000 girls in grades K-12 and engages 18,000 adult volunteers in 178 communities in eastern Massachusetts. Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place, and is the preeminent leadership organization dedicated solely to girls, allowing girls to take the lead in an inclusive and nurturing all-girl environment.
According to the recent Girl Scout Impact Study, one in every two adult women has at some point been a member of Girl Scouts. Girl Scout alumnae display a positive sense of self, are more engaged in volunteerism and community service, are stronger leaders, and have pursued higher levels of education as compared to girls who didn’t participate in Girl Scouts. This is a result of the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience, a focused and systematic approach to leadership development.
Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, girls develop courage to take an active role in their communities and speak out when they care about issues. They gain the confidence to make a difference and the character to act with integrity and compassion. Participation in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience helps ensure that girls will have the tools they need to be the leaders of the future. Girl Scouts is an affordable option for families and offers financial assistance. Girl Scouts also seeks volunteers whose time and talent can make a lasting positive impact on the community.
