FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 6, 2012 - Roanoke, VA, September 6, 2012 – In response to a groundswell of industry change and increasingly distinct sales needs, leading medical device and diagnostic (MD&D) companies will converge at the inaugural Medical Device and Diagnostic Trainers Summit October 2-3, 2012.  The event will be held at the Princeton Marriott Forrestal in Princeton, NJ and is sponsored by SPBT, the only association solely devoted to strengthening training in the healthcare industry.

Summit participants will be part of a robust learning agenda with interactive sessions led by executives at Roche Diagnostics, B. Braun Medical, Medtronic, and Covidien, among others.   The forum is designed to help sales trainers, learning and development professionals, and product managers benchmark, debate, and gain new insights into the most effective methods for developing device and diagnostic sales reps to their full potential.

Leading the event are Co-Chairs:
Jennifer Zinn, Vice President, Corporate Education, Roche Diagnostics
Kevin Glover, Vice President, Corporate Communications, Clinical Education and Training, B. Braun Medical

“Sales models, promotional channels, and customer needs are evolving quickly in the medical device and diagnostic field and trainers need to be fully informed to effectively compete and assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care,” said Jennifer Zinn. “The Summit will give trainers and other professionals who support the sales function a rare opportunity to define strategies for better impact.”

The event includes a wide range of case studies panel discussions and workshops covering topics that include: iPads and eLearning technology; design and use of simulations for product training; gamification; ROI; marketing and training partnership strategies; and much more.

"Educational leaders from medical device and diagnostic companies like B. Braun often attend pharmaceutical focused training and development conferences, and although there is much commonality given our health care focus, medical device trainers need to design and deliver programs that meet very different, specific sales force
needs.” said Kevin Glover.  “This Summit agenda is designed to address our unique MD&D issues. Participants will actively engage with peers and collaborate to help strengthen our collective sales training efforts.”

Companies participating in the event to date include Aesculap, Angiodynamics, B. Braun Medical, BioVentus, Covidien, Inteflex, Integra Life Sciences, Medtronic, St. Jude Medical, , ResMed, Stryker Orthopaedics, Siemens Medical, and more.
