Sept. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Visitors to Swansea Museum this Saturday (8 September) will be able to enjoy an evening of poetry readings inspired by the recent exhibition ‘Home from Home? Seeking Sanctuary in Swansea’.

This special evening will celebrate the end of the temporary exhibition and will feature new poetry created in response to the exhibition by asylum seekers, refugees, members of the public and Swansea Museum staff in poetry writing workshops held at the museum over the summer.

‘Home from Home? Seeking Sanctuary in Swansea’ explored the stories, fears and hopes of asylum seekers and refugees living in Swansea who have been attempting to rebuild their lives in the city.

The exhibition and poetry reading are a collaboration between Swansea Museum, Swansea City of Sanctuary, Swansea Bay Asylum Seekers Support Group, Asylum Voices and Displaced People in Action.

The poetry evening will take place between 6pm - 8pm and is free to attend.  For more details please contact Swansea Museum on 01792 653763.
