Sertoma Foundation To Hold Hearing Aid Battery Give Away in September

Sept. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Sertoma Speech & Hearing Foundation of Florida has  scheduled a battery give away for Thursday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to  12 noon.    
 
The Foundation will offer free hearing  aid batteries in the most common sizes while they last: 10, 13, and 312 and  675.  “The batteries can be picked up at our office during the allotted  time while supplies last,” noted Director of Development Debra Golinski. “We  need to be aware of costs so we ask that anyone who would like free batteries to please come in and pick them up on the 27th. We cannot mail them,” she added.

Ms. Golinski also mentioned Sertoma’s gratitude to the  Pasco Aging Network for providing the nonprofit with a grant for $750 that was  used for the purchase of these batteries. The Pasco Aging Network is a  nonprofit membership organization that represents a coalition of agencies and  private providers of elder services in Pasco County.

Hearing Loss is the  most common birth defect nationally.  Early detection and intervention is vital  for an infant to have the  opportunity to access speech and other sounds for  learning and brain  development.
