Padgett, Stratemann & Co. Promotes Three to Partner

Sept. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- SAN ANTONIO —Padgett, Stratemann & Co., L.L.P., one of Texas’ largest, locally-owned CPA and business advisory firms, announced today that Jenise Dounson, Annette Evans and Josie Behrend have been promoted to partner in the San Antonio office.

Jenise Dounson has more than 17 years’ experience in public accounting, with a focus on taxation for individuals and corporations. A 13-year veteran of the firm, Dounson leads Padgett Stratemann’s financial services tax practice and has a diverse industry background, with experience in the financial services, health science and manufacturing industries.  She works closely with business owners to develop strategic tax opportunities for their companies and shareholders.

In addition to Dounson’s role at Padgett Stratemann, she is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, San Antonio Chapter. She has a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio.

Annette Evans has 25 years of bank-related experience, including 19 years in public accounting and 6 years with a large multi-branch financial institution.  Since joining the firm 20 years ago, Evans has served as a senior manager in Padgett Stratemann’s financial institution practice and has led the firm’s consumer compliance practice.

Active in the community, Evans is highly involved with the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, the Texas Bankers Association, and the San Antonio Area Bankers Compliance Association. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Josie Behrend has more than 13 years of public accounting experience in the not-for-profit industry and in taxation for small businesses and individuals in the healthcare field. A member of the firm for 8 years, Behrend is responsible for tax compliance and consulting in Padgett Stratemann’s health science niche and public sector niche, which includes tax exempt organizations.

In conjunction to her duties at Padgett Stratemann, Behrend is an active member of the Internal Revenue Service Gulf Coast Area Tax Exempt/Government Council, the Healthcare Business Women’s Association, BioMed, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She received a master’s degree in accounting from St. Mary’s University and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas.
