Discount Playground Supply Announces Fast Patch Base Repair Kit

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 5, 2012 - Discount Playground Supply is pleased to announce the addition of Fast Patch Base Layer Repair Kit to their existing line of Poured in Place rubber playground surface repair products. Fast Patch Base, like the Fast Patch Wear Layer is a do it yourself product designed to save time, and money.

Poured in Place Surfacing (PIP) is a seamless rubber safety surface that is mixed and installed on site. It is a two part system consisting of a base or impact layer, typically ground rubber made from scrap car or truck tires called SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber), and a wear layer that is manufactured colored Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer rubber (EPDM).  A moisture cured polyurethane binder is added to bond the rubber together. This system is known for its low maintenance, custom designs, accessibility and longevity; however it is also the most expensive surfacing product on the market today

Both Fast Patch Wear and Fast Patch Base products contain the proper type and amounts of rubber along with the correct proportions of binder. If too much binder is used the system becomes too hard and can fail the head impact criteria. Conversely, if there is too little binder used, the system will disintegrate quickly.
