Teenage artists and musicians from Cincinnati & Columbus Ohio, Huntsville, Alabama, Ghana Africa, and Heidudial, Bloemfontein in South Africa came together via the Internet to collaborate, write and record a series of OBAMA theme songs remixes designed to support Rock the Vote efforts to reach new urban and African American voters in the US.
Produced by teenagers in two youth Arts Education programs, S.T.A.R. Worldwide (Striving To Achieve Real Success) and the MediaArts Institute of Alabama, (MAIA) this musical collaboration brought 30 talented artists together to write and record songs and videos expressing their respect and support for President Barrok Obama.
The results of this unique “ Rock The Vote “musical collaboration:
“MOVING FORWARD” pairs STARS-South Africa’s Danielle Silito’s soulful delivery with the urgent rap of STARS-AMERICA Street Preacher AKA Yavas Ellis, this combination along with the instrumental rhythms and backing vocals by these talented artist are sure to make this the most popular and hippest Presidential Election theme song ever!
“MOVING FORWARD’ is scheduled for download release September 6, coinciding with President Obama’s Convention appearance and speech at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte NC.
It will be available for $.99 on CD Baby, I-Tunes, SoundCloud, Spotify Facebook, Amazon, and Reverbnation as well as the S.T.A.R. & MediaArts Websites.
Proceeds from the sales of Digital download, CD’s and all merchandise will go to support the local and international art education and cultural exchange programs of S.T.A.R.S. and MAIA.
Produced by long time music industry veteran and friends Chris Powell and Leon Burnette, this pair has worked and produced over 500 projects and events for Warner Brothers, Motown, Arista Records, Epic Records, Jive Records, Solar Records, Capital, EMI, the Congressional Black Caucus and numerous other corporate clients.
