DASTKAR Presents the 9th Bangalore Nature Bazaar

Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Dastkar an  organisation working with crafts and craftspeople from across India for more than 31 years, is organising the 9th Bangalore NATURE BAZAAR at E Zone Club, #23/24 outer ring road,, Chinnapanahalli,, Near Marathahalli bridge, Bangalore-from the 31st August 2012 to 9th September 2012, from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

This year the  Dastkar Nature Bazaar will see over 110 Crafts men displaying and selling authentic Indian Art & Craft, Accessories, Jewelry, Household items from across 20 states of India.  Prominent among those will be groups which have displayed more than 10 new varieties
of crafts including

•   Jewelry made from Jute and Grains, Shantiniketan leather,  Handwoven and Handspun Khadi  from West Bengal,
•   Leather Juttis from Patiala, Punjab,
•   Intricate embroidery from Gujarat,
•   Sujni Embroidery from Bihar,
•   Organic Cotton from Tamil Nadu,
•   Khus products from Karnatka,
•   Ikat Weaving and Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh.

With CAMEL as the theme there will also be Puppet & Magic Show from Rajasthan

People visiting the Bazaar will also see interesting food stalls presenting the unique tastes of India.    

The over 110 unique arts & crafts from across the 20 states include representations from East, West,  North,  South, & Central Parts Of India.

East India
Dhokra Jewellery and Decoratives, Applique Work, Ikat weaving, Stone Carving, Coir Products, Sabai Grass, Terracotta, Pattachitra Paintings, from Orissa. Tussar Weaving, Madhubani painting, Tilli work and Sujni embroidery  from Bihar. Kantha Embroidery,  Mat Weaving, Shantinikaten Leather, Handspun & Handwoven Khadi , Dhokra Jewelry from West Bengal, Cane & Bamboo Furniture, and Bodo Weaving from Assam. Handmade soaps from Jharkhand.

West India
Leather Jutis & Footwears, Block Print, Bandhani, Applique and patchwork, Kota weaving, Threaded and Beaded Jewellery, Puppet Making, Lacquer, Phad Painting & Kavad, Embroidery, Weaving, Blue Pottery  from Rajasthan.Terracotta and Ceramics from Maharashtra. Bead Work, Kutchi Embroidery, Ceramic & Pottery, shawl  Weaving from Gujarat.  

North India
Woolen Weaving, Herbal Oils & Scrub from  Uttranchal. Wood Carving & Engraving, Khurja Pottery & Marble Inlays, Panja Durry &  Banarasi Weaving, Beaded Jwellery, Sanjhi Paper Craft & Kites all from Uttar Pradesh. Leather Jutis  from Punjab &Haryana. Ari Embroidery from Kashmir. Kullu Shawls & Angora Weaving  from Himachal Pradesh. Recycled & Elephant Dung Products from the National Capital Delhi.

South India
Coconut shell, Khus & Banana Fibre Products, Lacquer Toys, Tribal Jewellery, Lambani Embroidery from your own state Karnataka. Organic Cotton, Perfumed Candles & Incenses, Paper Lamps & Hammocks from Tamil Nadu. Leather Puppets, Handloom  Weaves & Durries, Kalamkari Painting, Ikat weaving and Organic products from Andhra Pradesh

Central India
Kosa Silk Weaving, Wrought Iron and Gourd Decoratives  from Chattisgarh.   Madhya Pradesh art includes Brass idols, Bagh print, Chanderi & Maheshwari weaving, Gond Paintings.
