2...4...6...8 Who Do We Appreciate? Teachers and School Staff!

September is Teacher and School Staff Appreciation Month at Impact Thrift Stores

Sept. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Few professionals touch as many people as teachers do. Impact Thrift is honoring local teachers and school staff, in a very special way, by acknowledging the crucial role they play in making sure every child receives a quality education.

In recognition of their hard work, Impact Thrift is giving all teachers and school support staff a 25% discount on all purchases during the entire month of September…just in time for back to school! All teachers and school staff who present current school ID will be able to shop all four stores and not only receive a 25% discount on all purchases, their school will also qualify for a choice between two grand prizes: a jaw dropping teacher’s lounge makeover or Impact Thrift will “play Santa” and deliver a truck load of toys to their school.

“The Teacher and School Staff Appreciation Campaign is about more than offering schools a shopping discount. It is about building community partnerships with the schools that neighbor our stores. It is an opportunity for all of us to reach out to each other.” notes Tamika Miller, Community Outreach Coordinator for Impact Thrift Stores. “Through this campaign we are inviting the community at large to learn how Impact Thrift supports those individuals who teach and care for the community’s children, especially considering all of the extenuating issues teachers face and financial burdens they bear.”

No one at Impact Thrift understands what teachers face more than Frank Hartwell, Impact Thrift’s Education Director, and a retired teacher of Lower Merion High School. “Teachers and school staff play such a significant role in the lives of our children. I think it’s great that we are offering educators this shopping discount.” commented Frank. “What most people don’t know is that Impact Thrift has always had a commitment to local schools. Many people who shop our stores are unaware that Impact Thrift has an education department; which offers college internships, community service opportunities for high school students, and the Impact LIVE leadership program.”

Designating September as Teacher and School Staff Appreciation Month is Impact Thrift’s way of publicly thanking Teachers and School Staff for their unwavering passion, dedication and commitment to educating our future. Impact Thrift recognizes that offering a 25% shopping discount to the schools will go a long way to alleviate the financial hardships many teachers experience, and in turn, will further benefit the students they serve.  It is a wonderful extension of Impact Thrift’s dedication to giving back to the local communities that have faithfully supported its mission to financially support locally-based charities through its thrift store operations. Impact Thrift’s commitment to honoring teachers and school staff, in so many ways, ultimately gives greater life to learning.
