Serenity Yoga Retreats, http://www.serenityyogaretreats.com/
, a new Yoga studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has just announced that they are now offering private yoga classes. It has been reported that prior to this, they only hold workshops in their studio and podcasts on their website. Many personalities in Malaysia and all over the globe have been requesting private lessons from the teachers, most especially from the mentor and life coach, Mahindra Raj, which happens to be the owner of the studio as well. Words from the street are that people want to learn not just Yoga from them but also learn how to change their way of living and obtain serenity and achievements they have been longing. They believe Serenity Yoga Retreats is the answer to all of these based on experiences shared to them by the people who have joined a workshop or two. Most of those who have joined their workshops and attended group lessons have seen this as an opportunity to learn more about yoga beyond their usual yoga time, and they are expecting a more personal touch from their teachers in improving their yoga skills. We were fortunate to interview one of the teachers and asked how do they feel about the private yoga classes and he mentioned that everybody in the studio is excited and a bit nervous as they all need to make preparation and extra time for each student. We also asked him as some are sceptical about the “change” and the “serenity”
that yoga seems to offer, even yoga in general, some do not believe in , and the teacher simply replied, quoting an old Yogi script: “When you are in a state of Yoga, all misconceptions that can exist in the mutable aspect of human beings disappear”.
Yoga is a form of physio-spiritual exercise method, which was developed in ancient India. There is a common misconception that Yoga is only an exercise method or a system of exercise that develops a flexible body. Yoga does obviously include a physical practice, however, unlike other exercise methods, Yoga is not limited to physical exercises. Spurred by the rapidly growing number of “all-in-one workout gyms” being set up, more and more people nowadays are practicing yoga as a form of physical exercise only. People who view and use Yoga for physical excercise are only engaging in one of the many aspects of Yoga – the Asana part, which is the third limb of Yoga.
Serenity Yoga Retreats use Yoga as a vehicle of transformation. Its mission is to raise awareness about who we are and where we currently are in our personal journey of life. It also involves us in discovering and building clarity about where we want to be, what we want to create and who we need to be in order to have all that. Serenity Yoga Retreats is focused on helping us become the person we need to be mentally, emotionally and physically, in order to bridge the gap between where we are and where we want to be.
