Barangay Japan season one became the avenue for news and information relevant to Filipinos in the Land of the Rising Sun. In its second season, Barangay Japan opens its doors for more opportunities for ‘Pinoys’ to engage in the segments on their own culture as well as on the Japanese culture. The segment will help the viewers become not only aware of the norms of their homeland and host country but also share their experiences with their ‘kababayans’
The new segments include Balitang Japan, a look into the latest happenings within the Filipino community including updates from the Japan Immigration Bureau and Philippine Embassy plus relevant events back home in the Philippines.
Aside from updates from the Philippine and Japanese government, Barangay Japan also features Serbisyong Pinoy which presents Filipino organizations who provide various services to ‘make Pinoys’ lives in Japan easier. Another segment shows these Filipino organizations and their events and how they are intertwined, all in the service of their fellowmen in Kaganapang Pinoy.
Meanwhile, Galing ng Pinoy showcases Filipino achievers; the roads they trudged to success and how they can provide inspiration to others.
Another segment Negosyong Pinoy shows more successful Filipino achievers excelling this time in the field of business. Negosyong Pinoy shows how these Filipino entrepreneurs rise to the challenges of mounting a business for Filipinos outside the Philippines.
To address the Filipinos’ interest in travel and leisure, Barangay Japan season 2 showcases different tourism destinations and important tips for travelers in Buhay Pinoy.
A show on Filipino culture is not complete without a segment on food. For viewers’ appetite for food, Lasang Pinoy gives viewers a taste of Filipino cuisine and culinary tips for family’s daily servings and food enthusiasts.
Hosting the segments is pioneer Sharon Francisco who is joined this time by two Jujitsu players who were previously featured in ‘Ang Galing ng Pinoy’ - Ramil Lagasca and Maxiell Nadin. Directed by Royce Shiroma Pellerin, Barangay Japan is produced by Interproduce Inc. and TFC Japan’s team of dedicated production and marketing teams who intend to give the viewers more reasons to tune in.
Barangay Japan can be enjoyed Sundays 8:35 p.m. via TFC in Japan’s cable and satellite platforms. Barangay Japan can also be enjoyed via TFC’s video-on-demand and official online service www.tfc.tv.
With more segments and new hosts to welcome to the fold this season, the hosts and the team can say “Maki-barangay na!” with a renewed spirit.
