Brooklyn, NY- (September 3, 2012) Today an announcement was made at the office of 4Belle Entertainment that it will host a book signing for Erica L. Porter’s debut memoir, The Macaroni Mama: Memoir of a Single Parent (Amazon.com, Createspace.com, August 6, 2012; $13.00). Porter’s memoir is a courageous and phenomenal tale of her life as a Single Parent living in Brooklyn, NY who oftentimes finds herself in challenging situations. The author penned her memoir to let all Single Parents in the universe know they are not alone in their daily battles.

“Single Parenthood is a journey not a destination,” says Porter as she puts her story on front-street for the world to see. The Macaroni Mama is a realistic, heart-felt memoir that undoubtedly connects the reader to the author’s vivid life’s experiences as a Single Parent.  Her scenarios and flashbacks are thought provoking and make her super characters come alive!

Porter’s unique style of writing takes you on an adventure leaving you wanting more as each page is turned. The memoir begins with a breathtaking street brawl in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Chapters like, “BROOKLYN”, "How it all began" and "My Single Parenthood" gives the reader insight on how Porter dealt with life as a young adult. “Those Jeans and “My Fantabulous Relationship with Food”, enlightens you on who Porter truly is.  “How I Survived my life as a Single Parent” is her coming into womanhood revelation.

“Self-publishing my debut memoir was an easy choice to make but a daunting task to complete. Promoting and Marketing are the two most difficult aspects of the entire self-publishing process. Believing in my work is one thing but persuading the masses to believe in it is a totally different animal to massage,” says the author. Porter wanted her voice to remain hers and this was the only route for her. She is happy in her decision.
