Cash Boost for Green Deal scheme

Goverment pledge money to ensure finance is available for start of the Green Deal energy scheme for households and businesses

Sept. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- The Green Deal, the Government’s flag-ship energy policy, has been given a major cash boost after they agreed to lend £7million to ensure money is available for providers early next year.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change expects the money to ensure the financing body will be able to offer cheap finance to Green Deal providers who have obtained the new quality mark.

The Green Deal, a new scheme introduced by the Government to assist commercial and private properties in improving their energy use, is expected to create up to 60,000 jobs by 2015.

Due to be launched in October, the register for Green Deal assessors, installers and providers has now opened for businesses to begin the accreditation process.
Homeowner are also expected to benefit from the new scheme, with households able to upgrade and pay for the cost through their energy bills.
