The Midlands Open individual player tournament will tee-off at 10.30am on Saturday 8th September and be played in a strokeplay format over 4-rounds (48-holes). Entry to the competition is £15 per player.
The BMGA British Doubles Championship tournament will tee-off at 9.30am on Sunday 9th September and be played in a mixed round-robin and knockout matchplay format. Entry to the competition is £20 per two-player team.
There will be prizes on the day for the top players in the Midlands Open and top teams in the BMGA British Doubles Championship. Newcomers and spectators will be able to find out more about the sport of competitive Minigolf from experienced BMGA players at both events.
Great Barr's Chris Harding is the reigning and defending Midlands Open champion having won the title at the Four Ashes course in July 2011. He followed up the Midlands Open win with victory in the following day's BMGA British Doubles Championships, where he and Canterbury's Marc Chapman successfully defended their titles, defeating Richard Skeggs and Oliver Florence in the final.
The BMGA Tour consists of Minigolf ranking events that take place at Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses across the UK. In 2011 there were 22 Ranking BMGA Tour competitions and a total of 12 players lifted BMGA Tour titles in Open, Invitational, Club and Doubles events.
