PRLog (Press Release) -
Sep. 27, 2012 - Catuai Coffee is used throughout central America. A high-yield hybrid of Mundo Novo and Caturra, it was bred in Brazil in the late 40s. The tree is short, with lateral branches in close angles to the primary branches. Easily tolerates strong rains, but does require fertilization and care. Yields both yellow and red fruit, the red being less acidic.
Costa Rica's rainy season has been slow to begin, so the plants have remain at the drip-irrigated nursery (see image on their Facebook page)
