Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County to Host Day for Kids Celebration

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 31, 2012 - SALINAS, CA. August, 31, 2012.  Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) is gearing up for its annual Day for Kids celebration on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Salinas Clubhouse at 85 Maryal Drive from 11 am to 2 pm.   The Day for Kids celebration is one of hundreds of events taking place across the nation, encouraging active play between young people and adults.   The event is free and open to the public.  Participants take part in activities with various community partners like art, movement, music, entertainment and face painting. There will be food and lots of FUN too.

“This will be our second annual Day for Kids event.  It’s a day of celebration where parents and adults confirm their commitment to the kids in their lives.  Day for Kids is a celebration for families to get active and have fun” says Marlene Trotter, Senior Unit Director of BGCMC.  

Active play is great for young people and fosters creativity, imagination exploration and helps to develop and master various skills.  Day for Kids encourages adults to play a part in ensuring a brighter future for young people by motivating them to lead a healthy lifestyle.
