Melonhead Foundation Announces Sixth Annual Charity Drag Bingo

Aug. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Tempe, AZ – On Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Resort will once again host the Melonhead Foundation’s Drag Bingo. This is not your grandmother’s bingo!

Early bird tickets are on sale now for $50 and must be purchased online, through http://www.melonhead.org. After October 1, tickets will be $60. Tables are also available, which seat 10 people, for $500.

As has been the tradition in the past, the evening will consist of dinner, bingo, a performance by the girls, and a costume contest. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in costume, and will be judged in a variety of categories from scariest to sexiest.

The evening will also include a raffle and silent auction where some fabulous prizes can be won. A cash bar will be available.

This is strictly a 21 and over event.  

The Melonhead Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports the needs of children with cancer and their families.

The Foundation has a threefold purpose:

1.   To provide financial aid to families of children 21 years of age or younger, with any diagnosis of cancer. We have awarded payment for housing, insurance, utilities, food, medical expenses and natural healing such as acupuncture, massage, and naturopaths when requested.

2.   Provide Holistic Services to pediatric cancer Patients and their families free of charge at the Wannahealyah Wellness Center. The center located in Tempe, AZ offers Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Yoga, Reiki, Counseling & group therapy, Life Coaching, SRT, Cranial Sacral, and Emotional Trauma Release to name a few.

3.   The ultimate goal of The Foundation is to establish the first permanent Camp Wannahealyah (www.campwannahealyah.org) in Arizona. Our first two prototypes, held in 2002 in Mesa and Jerome, were greatly successful and proved our model to be viable.
