Aug. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- CAMARILLO, CALIF.--German beer, vintage World War II aircraft and family fun will be on tap at the 26th Annual Oktoberfest, Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23 at the Commemorative Air Force Museum (Camarillo Airport, 455 Aviation Drive, Camarillo). The festival, hosted by the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks Sunrise, will feature a mix of German and American music, a beer and wine tasting pavilion with California and German brews, a kids play area, dog show and Bavarian contests.

Festival goers will enjoy aircraft flybys, touchdowns and takeoffs throughout the weekend, have photos taken inside aircraft cockpits, sign up for airplane rides and spend time viewing World War II memorabilia. This is the third year the museum has been the site for Oktoberfest. "The museum opens its hangar and museum for Oktoberfest so it's always a special weekend," says Mark Jachec, a member of the Oktoberfest planning committee.

Spaten (light pilsner style beer), Paulaner (one of the oldest breweries in Bavaria), Hacker-Pschorr (poured at the 1810 wedding of Ludwig I, the Crown Prince of Bavaria, which started the Oktoberfest tradition) and Weihenstephan (the world's oldest brewery) will be offering several blends including seasonal Oktoberfest brews. In addition, California crafted beers will be featured from Sierra Nevada, Fireman's Brew, Enegren Brewing Company and Ladyface Ale.

Bavarian foods including bratwurst will be available as well as other food varieties at the Oktoberfest food court.

Live entertainment begins at 11:00 a.m. both days with The Daniel Velarde Band. On Saturday, the Musicians on a Mission All-Star Band featuring Lisa Lewalt takes the stage at 12:25 p.m. The band is part of a nonprofit music organizations dedicated to fostering music-related services to community youth.
