Marble Of The World Donates Granite for 9/11 Memorial at Port St. Lucie Civic Center

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 31, 2012 - PORT ST. LUCIE, FL –  A newly constructed 9/11 Memorial will be unveiled at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center following an 8:30AM Remembrance Service on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 as an important reminder of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The tribute monument design was approved by Port St. Lucie city officials and was designed and constructed with over $50,000 worth of donated services and materials according to Tonya Taylor, administrator of the Port St. Lucie Civic Center. The memorial features an actual 11-foot section of metal girder from the fallen World Trade Center and suspended above a fountain.

Major project donors included Marble Of The World and A&G Concrete Pools. Marble Of The World’s Palm City, FL location donated the Absolute Black India and Peacock Green granite used in the construction of the monument. “We are proud to be involved with this project and happy to supply the granite for such an important tribute,” commented Marble Of The World president and owner Charles Urso. The company regularly donates funds and materials to local charities as part of its community support program, including a donation of over $250,000 in granite for the Lynn University Remembrance Plaza unveiled earlier this year to honor the faculty and students that perished during the devastating Haiti earthquake in 2010.

The Remembrance Service and 9/11 monument unveiling that follows is open to the public and free of charge. Anyone who suffered a personal loss on September 11, 2001 because of a terrorists’ actions that day are invited to be seated in a designated area in Village Square to honor their loved ones.
