Aug. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Soccer Support is pleased to announce registrations for the inaugural Soccer Tech Conference have opened and that it will feature as an official event partner of Social Media Week Los Angeles.

Soccer Tech 2012 will feature 10 workshops, forums and roundtable sessions on Thursday September 27. The event will be held a stone’s throw away from LA Live and the Staples Center, with events starting from 10am at the Opulen Studios, 1309 S. Flower St.

The events will tackle a number of issues and innovations online in the soccer community including video, blogging, gamification, advocacy and crowd funding to name a few and will be facilitated by some of the leading online soccer personalities including Warren Barton (Fox Soccer), Kristi Colvin (Womens United FC), David Keyes (XI Quarterly), Jeremy Melul (Jogabo), Rob Cann (Street Soccer USA) and Clent Alexander (SDSP Soccer Marketing).

Event Organizer and CEO of Soccer Support, Ryan Ginard mentioned that the interest in the inaugural Soccer Tech event was fantastic.

“With key innovators of the sport on hand to help educate and inspire new levels of online participation and action, people are obviously seeing the value of the event as a way to grow their social media toolbox and unlock the potential of their respective clubs, business and groups.

“In short, attendees will be able to enhance their knowledge of how to leverage influence online and identify new players, fans, volunteers and revenue streams” Mr Ginard said.

Soccer Tech forms part of the Social Media Week (SMW) Los Angeles program and is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. Our mission is to help people and organizations connect through collaboration, learning and the sharing of ideas and information. The previous SMW saw over 36,000 people attend events worldwide together with a further 150,000 interact online.

“The event will culminate in the Cosmos Awards – the first ever soccer specific social media awards in the U.S. -which is our way formally acknowledging the exceptional work of clubs, players and the fans that help develop the game through new media platforms.

“The awards will recognize and celebrate the most influential members of the U.S. Soccer social media community and celebrate all they have given and continue to give to the sport across the country” Ginard said.

Tickets are on sale now at www.soccertech2012.eventbrite.com for $10 which will give access to all the workshops and the Cosmos Awards Ceremony. All net proceeds will be donated to soccer non-profits.
