“Sachoom” will feature 14 of Korea’s top up-and-coming dancers performing elaborate choreographed numbers over a pulsating soundtrack. The entire stage will be filled with movement as the story comes to life in this dance spectacular. The production will undoubtedly capture the hearts of American attendees (ages 7 and up) from all cultural backgrounds as it makes its way for the first time to the great melting pot of the West: Los Angeles. Integration of popular dance genres, including hip-hop, jazz, contemporary dance, break dancing and dynamic music, will allow audiences from all generations and cultural backgrounds to connect with the engaging yet simple storyline. Vibrant visuals and uplifting musical numbers seamlessly transcend language.
Since the first stage performance opened in 2004, “Sachoom” has had over 1,900 performances to date throughout Asia, Russia and England. It continues to gain tremendous popularity as it makes its way to new regions. The musical was also the first Korean production to perform at the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe (August 3-25, 2008) and garnered various international award nominations.
