Partnering with Papco, a propane transportation company, Paraco Gas Safety Director Michael DiGiorgio demonstrated proper techniques for handling propane emergencies. Lessons on emergency preparedness, fire safety analysis, and pre-fire planning were also covered.
The three-day training began on August 23 and was completed on August 25. The event was held at the Papco facility in Bridgeton. Firefighters and emergency response teams from the area were in attendance.
DiGiorgio expressed appreciation for Papco's support and willingness to give back to the community. "We get very excited when we have the opportunity to provide this type of training to the communities we serve," he said. "Our propane emergencies curriculum is part of a nationally-acclaimed program, and we consider it an honor to help share this vital information with these emergency response professionals."
Citing safety as one of the company's core values, Paraco Gas employs a full-time safety director (DiGiorgio) and provides mandatory propane safety training classes for all employees.
Headquartered in Rye Brook, New York, Paraco Gas provides over 40 million gallons of propane to more than 80,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in nine states. LP Gas Magazine has ranked the company as the fifteenth largest propane retailer in the country.
