Impulse launches new high performance Intel Xeon based ATX Motherboard - CL630-CRM

Aug. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Impulse is pleased to welcome the new CL630-CRM to our range of high performance, long lifetime and revision controlled industrial motherboards from DFI. The CL630-CRM supports the latest 3rd and 2nd generation Intel Xeon and Core processors which include the powerful Intel Xeon E3-1275v2 and Intel Core i7-3770, right through to the energy efficient Intel Core i5-2400 and Intel Core i3-3220.

Not only does the CL630-CRM support the latest Intel processors, it also supports the latest generation of DDR3 memory. You can install up to 32GB of high performance 240-pin dual channel DDR3 DIMM memory into the CL630-CRM, with a clock speed of 1333/1600MHz (3rd gen processors) or 1066/1333MHz (2nd gen processors). The CL630-CRM also supports ECC based memory allowing for an additional layer of system stability and software reliability.

Expansion options

The CL630-CRM includes a wide selection of PCI expansion interfaces allowing you to integrate additional graphics cards, controller cards and networking interfaces. Expansion options include two PCI Express [x16] slots, two PCI Express [x4] slots, three PCI slots and a Mini PCI Express card slot.

System I/O

The CL630-CRM is based on the Intel C216 Express system chipset, which provides a flexible choice of I/O and expansion options. As standard the CL630-CRM includes support for up to four USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, four RS-232 ports, two RS-232/422/485 ports and an 8-bit digital I/O interface.

Storage options include two high speed SATA 3.0 ports, four SATA 2.0 ports and an IDE port. The SATA interface on the CL630-CRM is based on the Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) controller and supports RAID 0/1/5/10 configurations for added stability and performance functions.

Another key feature, often required by many of our customers, is flexible yet reliable networking functionality. The CL630-CRM meets these demands with its dual 10/100/1000Mbit Ethernet network interface. This network interface is controlled by two Ethernet chipsets - the Intel WG82579LM and the Intel WG82574L. The WG82579LM supports Intel Active Management Technology 8.0.

Intel Active Management Technology

Our customers are constantly evolving the way they monitor, manage and update their hardware whilst trying to keep costs and system downtime to a minimum. The CL630-CRM meets these requirements with its support for Intel Active Management Technology.

Intel Active Management Technology is a combination of hardware level functions and advanced software packages which allow system administrators to monitor, manage and update their system remotely over an Ethernet network. Features include out-of-band system access, remote troubleshooting and recovery, hardware based agent presence checking, proactive alerting and remote hardware and software asset tracking.

Microsoft Operating System Support

The CL630-CRM supports the latest embedded and desktop operating systems including Windows Embedded Standard 2009, Windows Embedded Standard 7 and Windows 7 for Embedded Systems.
