Man are we glad that RJ Tolson has released the final edition for “Zephyr the West Wind”! His timing was a slight improvement than it was with the original proof edition. As for the book itself, it sort of reminds me of combination of Harry Potter, Avatar the Last Airbender, and Narnia but while nonetheless very different and original in it's own right. I think RJ clearly is trying to show a more mature side of the fantasy genre traditionally looked at as a more "Young Adult" genre and this novel is just a step in that direction, hence the more mature subject matter in it along with the beautiful imagery of a fantastic and graceful world. Despite all of that, I think all of his fans will be pleased with the book, both young and older alike. He seems like the kind that shows growth and still provides fans with the same thing that they love about him and his work.
For those who haven't heard of or read Zephyr the West Wind, it wouldn't be a fantasy book without great characters, and there are many. The teenage boy Zephyr, orphaned under mysterious circumstances, is quickly forced to leave his home island for the first time and venture into an unknown and cruel world. He is accompanied by the prodigy Leon, a skillful and odd two sword styled swordsman with a dark and grim past. These and many more make the final edition of the first Book in the Chaos Chronicles one of the most delightful fantasy books from a young and talented author. Have you ever felt alone like most of us have? Have you ever wanted to have that never give up mentality? Zephyr the West Wind: Final Edition not only tells a story, but it allows us to mature and learn along with the characters and see and learn things we may have otherwise never known.
For those who have had the luck of reading the original collectors edition of Zephyr the West Wind, the Final edition has some great "features" (The limited edition is no longer in print and is a collectors item). Fantasy author R.J. Tolson resides in California, currently attending College while working on his next works. He has quietly been dubbed as the "Justin Bieber" of his industry, and considering the artists success, that is a great way to start off.
