FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 28, 2012 - Denver, CO – August 28, 2012 – More than 10,000 walkers representing local businesses, families, schools, and other organizations are expected to participate in the JDRF Rocky Mountain Chapter’s 21st annual Walk to Cure Diabetes presented by Floyd’s 99 Barbershops, on Sunday, September 9 at the Coors Field Main Parking Lot. The chapter has set a fundraising goal of $1 million, which will help fund research toward preventing, better treating, and curing type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications.
“It’s great to be partnering with JDRF and working together toward such an important goal – promoting awareness of type 1 diabetes and raising funds to advance research,” said Matt Wilson, VP at Coca‐Cola Refreshments and this year’s JDRF Walk Corporate Chair. “By working together, we can make a difference for the millions of people who are affected
by this disease.”The Walk is expected to draw an enthusiastic crowd of all ages, driven to support a great cause while enjoying an event that includes breakfast, dance crews, entertainment, bounce houses, face painting and more. On‐site registration begins
at 7 AM. The entire walk will be approximately 3.1 miles long, starting and ending at the Coors Field Main Parking Lot. “JDRF is truly grateful for the support of Matt Wilson at Coke and Paul and Karen O’Brien at Floyd’s 99 Barbershops in this year’s Walk to Cure Diabetes,” said Michael Finch, JDRF Rocky Mountain Chapter President. “Type 1 diabetes is a disease that affects as many as 3 million Americans, and it is through the help and dedication of supporters like Matt, Paul and Karen that JDRF is able to fund the research to develop better treatments and one day a cure for those people and their families.”
JDRF Walks are held in more than 200 cities worldwide.
