Rarely Seen Raptors Soar At The Springs Preserve

Wings over the Springs returns with splendid new additions beginning September 1

 
PRLog - Aug. 28, 2012 - LAS VEGAS -- WHAT: See raptors up close and in flight as Wings over the Springs returns to the Springs Preserve with exciting new additions. The exhilarating live show explores the role these majestic raptors play in sustaining our environment, and can only be seen at the Springs Preserve.

Visitors will observe a variety of birds including: Eurasian Eagle Owl, Saker Falcon, Barbary Saker Falcon, Lanner Barbary, African Hawk Eagle, Barbary, Red Necked Falcon, and African Crow Raven. New to the show are the Harris Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, Yellow Vulture, African Augur Buzzard, Common Buzzard, and Yellow Billed Black Kites. The Yellow Billed Black Kites are native to Southern Africa and the Middle East. These two females are the only members of this species in the U.S.

Wings over the Springs is free for members or included with General Admission. Nevada Residents: $9.95 Adults, $4.95 Children 5-17, those under 5 years old are free. For more information visit springspreserve.org.

For $10, guests can upgrade their experience with a backstage pass, which allows direct contact and interaction with the birds after the show.

WHERE: Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., (Meadows Lane, between Alta Drive and U.S. 95)
Shows take place at the Springs Amphitheater with presentations held inside the Big Springs Theater during inclement weather.

Two live shows at 11:00 a.m. and 1 p.m.
