“This accreditation was more than passing a test – it is a bold sign that we have the skills and the dedication to our customers that few can match,” said Construction Resources president, Mitch Hires. “Marble Institute of America accreditation joins our exclusive offerings like Cambria Quartz, Artisan Group materials, Bonotti Italian Marble and Piedrafina as ways that we distinguish ourselves from other fabricators.”
In order to receive accreditation, Construction Resources/Atlanta Kitchen passed three phases. Phase one was the completion of a lengthy application that required Construction Resources to provide various documents and references which ensure that the company is in compliance with the ten standards of accreditation as laid out by the MIA Accreditation Commission. Phase two required Hires and Operations Manager David Lovelock to pass a 200-question multiple choice test. The exam tested their knowledge and application of material usage, installation, fabrication, restoration, care and maintenance, administration, legal/contracts and safety on the jobsite and in the shop. The third phase was a comprehensive site visit, which included a facility review, document review and one or more installation site visits. The sole purpose of the program is to increase the quality of fabrication and installation practices in the stone industry.
Garen Distelhorst, the Communications Director at the MIA said, “Construction Resources/Atlanta Kitchen is now able to proudly display the accreditation logo, which symbolizes that they are among the finest in the natural stone industry with respect to craftsmanship, safety and business practices.”
