Kids Rock for Vision Concert raises $8,000 for nonprofit New Eyes for the Needy

Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- The final tally is in and the Kids Rock for Vision concert was another big hit for New Eyes for the Needy. The May concert, held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Summit, raised over $8,000 through ticket sales and donations for the Short Hills based nonprofit organization. The student musicians performed great classic and original rock music to benefit disadvantaged children in the United States who need prescription eyeglasses.

Since the inception of the concert four years ago, Kids Rock has donated over $30,000 to New Eyes to purchase new glasses for children. With the money raised by these dedicated young musicians, 680 disadvantaged children in the United States now have access to better vision through new prescription eyeglasses.  Special thanks for this year’s success goes to students Will Taggart , Andrew McGann and George Psichos, all of Summit, NJ, for their time and energy in organizing the concert and to School of Rock Chatham, NJ for their fourth year of generous sponsorship.

Since 1932, New Eyes has improved the vision of over 7.5 million poor people through its U.S. new eyeglasses program and its overseas used eyeglasses recycling program.  Learn more about New Eyes on Facebook at http://facebook.com/neweyesfortheneedy or visit their website at http://neweyesfortheneedy.org.
