Below is a summary of the key changes to Solar AS 5033 and how we can help you comply. Also please be aware that the domestic voltage rating of all solar installations are to be limited to 600 Volts DC. http://advancetech.com.au/
Heavy Duty Conduit
The solar array to inverter solar cables within buildings must be in heavy duty conduit. We carry a range of orange heavy duty conduit and also Flexicon UV resistant conduit, suitable for more demanding conditions.
Isolation/Disconnection
An isolating/disconnection device which is required to be non-polarised, must be installed at the array if the inverter is more than three metres from the array and must be installed adjacent to the inverter. We carry a range of weatherproof DC isolators.
Non Polarised
Disconnection devices will not be polarity sensitive and need to be certified to AS/NZ 60898 or IEC 60947. Our range of DC circuit breakers are non polarised and certified. We also carry pre-wired enclosures with MC4 style connectors to suit.
Earthing
Earthing of all exposed metal module frames and mounting rails is required. Our solar bonding clamp is very effective at earthing.
Certified Connectors
Connectors are mated with connectors of the same type from the same manufacturer (12 month transition). We carry the SOLINQ brand of MC4 style connectors which are certified to comply with the latest regulations.
Routed, Supported & Protected
All PV wiring and components are routed, supported and protected in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 and plastic cable ties are not to be used as a primary means of support. We carry a range of conduit fittings, girder clips and other mounting accessories.
