Snell & Wilmer Attorney Marek Bute Takes Helm as President of the Board of Aid for Aids of Nevada

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 27, 2012 - Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Marek Bute, an associate in the Las Vegas office, began serving his term last week as President of the Board of Directors for Aid for Aids of Nevada (AFAN). AFAN provides support and advocacy for adults and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in southern Nevada. AFAN works to reduce HIV infection through prevention education to eliminate fear, prejudice and the stigma associated with the disease.

“I began working with AFAN in 2010 and continue to be inspired by the passion and dedication of the people in this organization,” Bute said. “Serving as interim president for the last few months has been amazing and I look forward to working with a dedicated board and executive director to achieve all of our goals in the next year. Snell & Wilmer supports the communities they serve and I feel privileged to be serving this organization and community.”

Bute's practice is concentrated in business and commercial litigation including, but not limited to, prosecution and defense of breach of contract claims, with an emphasis in construction industry issues, hospitality and arts and entertainment.  He has represented a range of clients that includes recording artists, performance rights organizations, commercial and residential owners, developers, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, financial institutions and insurance companies in multi-million dollar commercial litigation. Bute graduated magna cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law.
