The Funky Pirate plays host to legendary performers such as Big Al Carson and the Blues Masters on a regular schedule and features a special Jazz specific monthly guest on Mondays. For the media, emergency and service industry employees who need a dry and safe place for a short break during Hurricane Isaac, Funky Pirate will keep its doors open and staff on hand. “While the impending hurricane is certainly an event that all people living in New Orleans should take seriously, we hope that for those that have to stay in the French Quarter that the Funky Pirate can be a place where they can have a comfortable place for a short break,” explained Earl Bernhardt and Pam Fortner, co-owners of the Funky Pirate and Tropical Isle® bars.
