PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 27, 2012 - 2015 may soon be declared the “Year of Patient Protection.” Doctors, dentists, health care facilities and anyone who touches a patient and uses technology to process a patient record will be required by law to protect that patient’s health information in ways that exceed any previous requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. Those who do not take this mandate seriously face substantial fines by the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.
