Local Association Donates Hundreds of Supplies to Appleton Area School District

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 27, 2012 - Several Appleton School District students are starting their school year well equipped through the generosity of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) employees. Working together, the staff of 57 contributed hundreds of school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, folders, markers, glue, scissors, pencil boxes, crayons and much more. “It is very gratifying for our staff to hold this fundraiser each year,” said Kathy Stanek, NATP CEO. “We are always happy to do our part in helping the parents and children of our community.”

On hand to accept the donation were Lee Allinger, Superintendent of Schools and Kimm Smith, AASD Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. Both emphasized the growing need for donated school supplies; as the unemployment rises, more and more students come the first day empty handed. The Appleton Area School District provides education to more than 15,000 students.

NATP is a nonprofit tax association supporting almost 25,000 member tax preparers nationwide with tax education, information, research and practice management support. The NATP Tax Knowledge Center is comprised of experts in most areas of tax who hold designations including Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent and Registered Tax Return Preparer. NATP staff provides more than 30,000 answers to tax questions yearly, writes topical tax articles for multiple member publications and authors several tax textbooks.
