HappyBidDay Announces Changes in its Bid Auction Model

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 27, 2012 - Leading online auction site HappyBidDay.com announced today that it’s making changes to its bid auction model. The company offers three popular auction types: Starter Auctions, Penny Auctions, and their aptly named free-to-participate version, Happy Auctions. The site enrolls registered users into a rewards program where they earn free bids courtesy of the company. The free bids can then be used in the Happy Auctions, which typically include gift cards, small electronics, bid packages, and other smaller ticket items.

Today, HappyBidDay announced that it is setting the opening cost of these free-to-participate Happy Auctions at just $1.00. Bids increase the price by $0.37 each, and like all auction formats, the last bidder when the clock runs out wins the item and gets to purchase it for the final auction price.  

The change comes as a direct result of customer feedback, and CEO Lisa Dee hopes it will be a lasting trend.

The company’s Happy Auction start price change goes into effect this month, with what is anticipated to be a warm reception by HappyBidDay users.
