Mahindra reva inaugurates its new electric car manufacturing plant in Bangalore

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 25, 2012 - Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman M&M has inaugurated Mahindra Reva’s new electric car plant today in Bangalore. Mahindra Reva electric car company is first electric vehicle company in India with more than 4000 electric cars on road.

The unique feature of the manufacturing plant is that it was awarded the IGBC Platinum rating for utilizing natural resources like day light during day time, solar energy for powering electrical gadgets and last but not least used for charging newly manufactured electric cars. The plant also uses the rain water harvesting for recycling water. It also has solar parking stations for charging electric cars. Mahindra Reva is the second automotive company in the world to get this honour of IGBC platinum rating for green building and it is the first company in Asia to get this honour.

Mr. Anand Mahindra (Chairman M&M), Mr. Chetan Maini(Founderand CEO) and Mr. Chandra Mouli(COO) participated in the press conference after the inauguration of the plant.  Mahindra Reva is planning to launch its most awaited REVA NXR model within couple of months.
