“Are You Kidding Me?” gives Stickney’s hilarious view on race, age, sexual politics and social media. She returns to Harlem’s popular Dinosaur BBQ due to popular demand. Her July showcase had a full house and an act filled with humor and audience participation. Stickney is the first Black woman to perform a comedy show at the venue frequented by patrons from all over the world.

A consummate artist, writer, director, producer and comedienne,  Stickney is best known for her dramatic work in films such as “Malcolm X,” “What Does Love Have to Do With It,” “Jungle Fever,” “New Jack City,” “Die Hard with a Vengeance,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” and “Inkwell.” Her television appearances include “Law & Order,” “New York Undercover,” “The Women of Brewster Place,” “A Different World” and many more. She was featured in Essence Magazine’s 25th Anniversary Issue who named her as one of the “200 African American Women Who Has Changed the World.”

“There's no doubting that as an actress, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney can create a lively series of portraits,” wrote drama critic Ben Brantley in the New York Times.

Stickney has been a star, writer and director of several Off-Broadway and New York metro area theatre productions including “"Big Momma 'n' 'Em” at the Joseph Papp Public Theatre, “Pecong” at the National Black Theatre and “The Amen Corner” at Crossroads Theater Company.  She was co-producer of the hit play “Woza Albert.”

As a comedienne, Stickney has performed on the Comic View, Showtime at the Apollo, Essence Music Festival and at the Just Pour Rire comedy Festival in Montreal Canada with John Candy. This fall, Stickney will co-star in the BET film “Gun Hill,” a high-powered cop drama about twins on opposite sides of life starring Larenz Tate (“Love Jones,” “Menace II Society”). She will be portraying Tate’s mother in the television movie written and directed by Reggie Bythewood (“New York Undercover,” “Biker Boyz”).
