                               ELK ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES RECOGNIZED AGAIN
                            Named in the Top 200 Environmental Firms by ENR Magazine

ENR Magazine has named Elk Environmental Services of Reading, Pennsylvania the 150th best environmental firm out of 200 in the world.  This is the second year in a row that Elk has been included on the list, coming in at number 169 in 2011.  The 19-place move can be attributed to Elk’s commitment to its customers & employees and offering a variety of unparalleled services.

According to ENR Magazine, firms were ranked based on the percentage (%) of gross revenue in 2011 for environmental services only.  These services include: Engineering and/or Design, Consulting and/or Studies, Constriction, Contracting, &/or Remediation, Construction Management and/or Program Management, Equipment or Device Manufacturing, Contact Operations, Technology and/or Research & Development, and Other Services.  Elk’s largest service, in % of gross revenue, was Construction, Contracting, and/or Remediation in 2011.

This is the second time this year that Elk has been included on a ‘Top’ List.  The first time occurred in May when the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry named Elk #9 out of the top 50 businesses in Reading, Pennsylvania.  This list took into consideration the % of revenue growth over the past three years.  Elk previously ranked #34 in 2011.

According to the ENR website, the magazine was first published on January 1, 1987.  The magazine aims to provide the news, analysis, commentary and data that construction industry professionals need to do their jobs more effectively.  ENR connects diverse sectors of the industry with coverage that everyone needs about issues such as business management, design, construction methods, technology, safety, law, legislation, environment and labor.

Elk Environmental Services is a Pennsylvania-based, privately owned company specializing in emergency response, environmental remediation, waste management, and industrial services.  Recently, the company has moved in the Marcellus Shale region, opening a location in Camptown, Pennsylvania.
