According to Pittsburgh Business Times reporter Malia Spencer, Anthony Horbal, the new CEO of Seegrid Corp. has one goal — go global. Spencer reported, the Coraopolis-based robotics firm has been quietly growing since it moved from starter space in Lawrenceville to RIDC Park West in late 2009. The company occupies 41,000 square feet for more than 70 employees, and its head count is growing, said Horbal, previously the company’s president. “We are ready to go global,” he said. “I have been tasked with the responsibility of that success.”
Since last year, the company has been building out its executive team. Previous CEO and company co-founder Scott Friedman is taking the role of president and, earlier this month, Michael Hasco was named chief growth officer. In April 2011, the company named David Heilman chief administrative officer and Matthew Kramer chief revenue officer.
Now, Horbal thinks the team is in place for rapid growth. “(We’re)
take costs out of the product. We are doing demos everywhere.”
Prior to Seegrid, Horbal founded Three Rivers Health Plans Inc., a Pennsylvania Medicaid health plan, which was sold to UnitedHealthcare in 2008. He said his experience rapidly growing that company and his knowledge of business development, team building and motivating a staff have prepared him for this new role.
