Third revision begins as Shiloh hits the backstretch

The last novel took him 17 years to finish. Fans ask: will this one take as long? "I hope not, because I won't have 3 books in me. Odds are I'll be dead," says Doug Shiloh. Check in with the American novelist who's on Twitter and publishing new work.

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 23, 2012 - Things have been quite busy for Doug Shiloh since he published his first novel back in 2008. The Illinois writer published his satire of celebrity, Pookoo, and has had it downloaded from his web sites about 5,000 times.

2012 has been a good year and it's only gotten better. It started off with work published in Canada's prestigious arts magazine Zouch, with a piece about a "battle of the sexes" called "The Paparazzo". Then in February, the hot new audio mp3 'zine WordPlaySound published Shiloh's story "The Six-Foot Lobster."

This summer, amid a record heatwave, Shiloh published a series of three works at http://fictionaut.com/users/doug-shiloh. One of the pieces was a world print premiere from his novel in progress titled WAITING FOR THE END. Part of this comedic-yet-dark novel is set on September 11th, 2001.

"I'm hoping to have a chapter ready for 9-11," Shiloh said. "But I've been busy and finishing the book is most important."

Busy - yes. He endured a divorce this August, and found time to start up a blog (http://dougshiloh.wordpress.com/). So far his entries include topics such as feng shui, massage, and writing tips. "It's a catch-all, with no one topic. Just whatever comes to mind. It's been great especially with all the personal stuff going on."

Readers can download from Amazon POOKOO or go to http://www.911novel.com to get a copy of the first novel, and take a look around.

"I'm at the third draft stage, without an agent so far," said the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference grad. "It's a wild book and it's been a helluva lot of fun to write."
