The International Emerging Designer Competition, this past Saturday August 18, 2012 was a hit! Designer’s Sharlenne Chen, Fritz & Johan Botha, Hazel Gonzalez, Victoria Thompson, Noora Alharthi, Brittanie Calilan, Farah Deeba Ismail and Perla Cuellar watched their creations come to life at the debut FWLV International Fashion Designer Competition at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa in Henderson, Nevada.
Judges Gus Castaneda and Frederic Charpentier from Los Angeles and Rory Castillo of Sacramento watched, and analyzed each designer’s collection as they emerged one by one during an informal modeling session. After 2 hours of the competition and much hard deliberation, Sharlenne Chen http://www.aerithe.com representing California, USA in the Red Carpet Category Collection, Fritz & Johan Botha http://www.fwilsonfashion.co.za representing South Africa in the Bridal Category Collection and Hazel Gonzalez http://www.hazelgonzalez.com representing Costa Rica in the Accessory Category were awarded as Best Designer of the night in their Collection Categories. The unbeatable prize package includes round trip transportation for two to Fashion Week Las Vegas in February 2013, and to showcase in the Collective Runway Show.
