Windows 8 is Microsoft's latest operating system that features an all-new touch screen interface.  It emphasizes applications that readily display information from the Cloud or Internet, including access to files.

The Bay County Tax Collector application demonstrates the power of Windows 8 to quickly access property and real estate tax information stored on a remote mid-size business computer.

The VisualGov application is the first public sector application approved for the Windows Store, which is an integral feature of Windows 8 that enables users to easily locate and download applications.

Keith Fredriksen, VisualGov Solutions Business Manager, said, "Information access is crucial, and the Windows 8 platform is superbly capable."  The company believes many more government entities could benefit from this technology.
