Calling All Agripreneurs! Receive an Opportunity to Pitch your Startup!

Aug. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, CA—A select group of Sustainable Agriculture Agripreneurs will have a chance to fast pitch their companies to an influential audience at the Seedstock Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Conference, to be held on October 24 at UCLA Anderson School of Management (http://conference.seedstock.com).

The one-day conference will examine how innovative farmers and entrepreneurs can develop successful businesses while maintaining a commitment to sustainable practices and sourcing. For the selected startups, the Agripreneur Fast Pitch Competition is an opportunity to pitch to every segment of the sustainability community, including venture capitalists, researchers, media and other entrepreneurs.

“We know how difficult it is for startups to get in front of the people who can provide help, whether by investing the money they need or providing valuable advice that can save them money,” says Robert Puro, Managing Partner of Seedstock, a company focused on innovation and sustainability in agriculture. “The startups that present are going to have a captive audience made up of exactly those kinds of people.”  

Seedstock has also partnered with Local Food Systems, Inc. (LFS) to provide free conference tickets to two deserving agri-preneurs.

A leader in the farm-to-fork movement, LFS provides technology to connect high-volume buyers (and their existing purchasing systems) to aggregated supply from small producers.  LFS technology facilitates transactions and improves the efficiency of the entire local-food supply chain.
