“We really like supporting the smaller breweries from all over North Carolina, but with Craftoberfest, we wanted to give the local craft breweries a way to spotlight their best seasonal beers in a fun way,” said Tom Taddeo, VBGB co-owner and half of the husband and wife duo that opened the beer hall and garden/restaurant in April, 2011.
In addition to the specially-created beers by local craft brewers, two traditional Oktoberfest beers and VBGB's famous pretzels w/beer cheese on buffet, entertainment will include the Big Face Polka band, Neil Diamond Karaoke, bier stein races, chicken dancing, traditional German costume contest and a frankfurter toss competition. There will more than $1000 in prizes.
Tickets for the event’s three sessions cost $45 each (21+ ONLY) and are all inclusive. ($10 for under 21yr old on Saturday 1pm session only). Purchase online at http://www.vbgbuptown.com or in person at VBGB during normal business hours. No phone orders.
The three sessions are:
