Autumn hues in Tuscany: watercolour painting and memoir-writing courses at The Watermill at Posara

Autumn late-availability and press trip possibilities from the Watermill at Posara

PRLog - Aug. 23, 2012 - Four courses at The Watermill at Posara still have availability this autumn. Suitable for all abilities, courses are held at the beautiful, picture-perfect, restored 17th century grain, chestnut and olive mill in rural, north-west Tuscany.  Using the local surroundings as inspiration – with trips out into the countryside and to nearby villages – guests enjoy superb regional food, such as gorgonzola soufflés, risotto with pears and parmesan, amaretto mousse ice cream and homemade tiramisù.

1-8 SEPTEMBER 2012
Laraine Simpson – watercolours, oils, pastels and other media
Laraine likes to encourage her students to appreciate the relationships between line, tone, shape and colour. Her main areas of interest are the human form, landscapes, architecture and horses.

15-22 SEPTEMBER 2012
NEW: ‘How to write your life story’ with British author Jo Parfitt
If you have a story to tell, but don’t know how to, Jo Parfitt – author of 27 non-fiction books – should be able to help. During this memoir-writing course, guests learn how to write compelling stories based on their own experiences and turn them into a publishable memoir.

22-29 SEPTEMBER 2012
David Taylor – watercolours
Australian artist David has received more than 100 awards for his watercolour paintings. He exhibits across the globe and a couple of his paintings are now part of China’s National Collection. David lists Monet, Turner and Singer Sargent amongst his influences.

29 SEPTEMBER – 6 OCTOBER 2012
Charles Sluga – watercolours
Australian artist Charles is a highly respected watercolour artist and teacher in both Australia and Europe.  Charles has an irresistible enthusiasm and passion for watercolours and, as with all The Watermill’s courses, it doesn’t matter whether you’ve picked up a paintbrush since school or not.

A week’s painting or creative writing course in 2012 costs from £1,149 pp based on two sharing. The price includes transfers (Pisa), all tuition, seven nights’ accommodation, pre-dinner aperitifs, all meals (including local restaurants), local travel and a mid-week visit to either the Cinque Terre or Lucca. £200 off for non-painting partners. Flights (Pisa) extra.
