A recent breakfast workshop designed to give key hints and tips on writing the perfect award entry attracted over 30 businesses. Organised by Somerset Chamber of Commerce – the Somerset Business Awards’ organisers – and main Awards sponsors Albert Goodman, with input from ADPR, gave essential advice and tips on how to be successful in the Somerset Business Awards, what the judges are really looking for and how to maximise your publicity as a result of the awards.
Roger Player, Managing Director of Sun Traffic Signals, attended the breakfast workshop, he commented, “I haven’t attended one of the Somerset Business Awards breakfast workshops before, but now I have the confidence, along with some great advice, to make my entry really count. It was great to see such successful case studies from previous years, illustrating how winning an Award has transformed their business – it gives me something to aspire to. I am now going to analyse my business very closely and make the perfect entry.”
Special Horses for Special Children’s founder and managing director, Lilias Ahmeira, also attended the event and gave a short speech about how winning the Awards pushed her business into the limelight. She proved how the Awards helped her business and the amazing results she has seen since, inspiring many delegates.

The Somerset Business Awards are open to Somerset companies of all types and sizes. Businesses can nominate themselves and are welcome to enter more than one category, but should make multiple applications online, ensuring they differentiate between the criteria of each award.
