All of this year’s diversity winners were listed in the July/August 2012 print issue of the publication and will be profiled online Aug. 30, 2012. Corp! not only considered race and ethnicity, but also gender, religion and handicapping conditions as worthy of recognition. Honorees demonstrated a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, and contributions to diversity issues in business and the community.
The diversity winners were selected in three categories and include: Diversity Focused Company, defined as a company that clearly defines and monitors diversity success and demonstrates how diversity efforts add value to the company; Diversity Business Leader, an individual who is a diversity role model or top officer of a minority-owned business; and Diversity Champion, a nonprofit or community organization that creates or promotes special programming, education or other initiatives that focus on diversity.
The Salute to Diversity event will feature networking, breakfast, and awards presentation. The event will feature a keynote address by Alejandro Quiroz, vice president of Global Advanced Manufacturing for Whirlpool Corporation who will present “Leveraging Diversity for Value Creation in Global Business.” Tickets for the event are $50 and can be purchased online at www.corpmagazine.com or by calling 586-393-8815.
