PRLog (Press Release) -
Aug. 22, 2012 - Assa Abloy is a company that manufactures High Security Locks and door hardware. They are also the parent company of Medeco and Multi Lock. These high security locks offer home and business owners more than a difficult product to break-into for unauthorized entry, but also give a higher sense of security and peace of mind. High Security locks have many advantages in comparison to standard locks. One advantage would be the ability to guard against unauthorized key duplication, which is accomplished, threw a security card and special coding. You must be a licensed Locksmith in Brooklyn New York and most states to obtain a machine to duplicate keys. This is not the only security advantage as these locks are not able to open through conventional methods. The purpose of ASSA’s Key Control is to let the card holder control who can make duplicate keys. What separates high security keys from the conventional keys varies depending on the brand of lock. When referring to Multi Lock we have circular cuts with different depths that vary between a coding based on letters and numbers. Medeco is somewhat different, with the coding based on depth and left and right angle cuts on their original product, each with its own special coding to operate the cylinder locking mechanism. Both Medeco and Multi Lock have an internal side bar that is unique to high security locks. All side bar codes are cut and registered at the ASSA production factory. Some of the locks that they manufacture have a patented key blank that is prescribed to specific Locksmiths and facilities. They usually will not give a locksmith rights to a patented keyway unless they can produce an abundance of sales. A Locksmith in Brooklyn must produce keys in accordance with ASSA's five levels of security or their rights to represent the company will be revoked.
The standard locks that we are accustomed to are no longer adequate if security is a concern. The methods that people use to manipulate locks and breach security have evolved. Todays, locking systems have become so advanced that not only do they keep people out but they can electronically keep people locked in. They are computer based and run according to the software programming. Keys can be disengaged electronically denying access to a user without changing the lock. These types of locks are especially useful in places like psychiatric wards, prisons, government installations, and places that house sensitive information or valuables such as gold.
For Residential locksmith purposes we most commonly see Deadbolts and Jimmy Proof Deadbolts for the upper portion of the door. As an Emergency Locksmith in Brooklyn it is recommended that you install a mortise lock for the lower portion of the door. The reason is that a Mortise lock sits inside the door and has a latch (locking mechanism for a standard doorknob) but also incorporates a deadbolt as well increasing security. We suggest this as a replacement to the standard doorknob as on new doors they can come factory installed if requested.
