Follow on Google News | Public benefit from crackdown on claims incentivesGeneral public more likely to approach solicitors directly after crackdown on claims management companies offering incentives
The Claims Management Regulation’s (CMR) new rules, which come into force from April 2013, will take action to ban any Claims Management Companies from offering incentives such as cash, shopping vouchers and goods to induce members of the general public to make a claim through them. The move is designed to address growing concerns that the incentives offered encourage people with weaker claims to sue for their own gain rather than be advised on the strength of their case. The new regulation should encourage members of the general public with potential claims to approach specialist claims solicitors for advice rather than approach an intermediary like a claims management company. If you believe you have a claim, why not by-pass a claims management company and contact Francis Alexander Solicitors, a firm who have many years experience of handling such cases.
