By: d1sportsnet.com Welcome to the big leagues #124: South Alabama Schedule strength: 122 Roster strength: 124 Overall potential: 123 The short on the Jaguars: South Alabama has only been playing football since 2009, and have taken slow steps to prepare itself for the leap to the FBS level. They can win, and started off its program winning 17 straight against minor programs, and have been competitive against FBS competition. Playing in the Sun Belt, a win or two, maybe more is possible. #123: Texas-San Antonio Schedule strength: 121 Roster strength: 123 Overall potential: 124 The short on the Roadrunners: Playing only their second season ever, going 4-6 last year, UTSA will have a long haul of it. Head Coach Larry Coker may have big time coaching experience (Miami FL), but in the end a win may be a stretch. #122: Massachusetts Schedule strength: 119 Roster strength: 116 Overall potential: 120 The short on the Minutemen: UMass has a long history at the D1AA level and has been competitive. Playing in the Mid American Conference Eastern Division and a non conference schedule of lesser FBS teams will help make their initiation to the top level not as rough as the other three schools entering the top tier this season. #121: Texas State Schedule strength: 120 Roster strength: 91 Overall potential: 121 The short on the Bobcats: Dennis Franchione has been at the helm one season and had mixed results, going 6-6 last year. Texas State has a pair of Division 2 titles to its credit, back when it was known as Southwest Texas State, but this is the big leagues. The Bobcats should be able to keep games interesting, and could win a couple. End
