"One way we achieve our mission to increase public awareness of the creative talents of people with disabilities is to arrange for college scholarships for continuing students such as Aaron Pfeiffer to promote their further participation in the Arts," said Michael Dergar, President and CEO of the Pasadena-based Academy of Special Dreams Foundation. "Aaron’s personal story of overcoming tremendous physical challenges continues to inspire everyone, and so this year the Special Academy in collaboration with the Department on Disability will feature his talented artwork at Los Angeles City Hall on the month of August 2012."
"I want to thank the Academy of Special Academy for continuing to believe in me and for showing my work to the world," said Aaron.
Through the generous contributions of our supporter such as Marcos Rodriguez and Helen Woo, the Academy of Special Dreams Foundation also provides semi-annual web-based opportunities for the special needs community to express themselves in competitive short film visual arts and writing projects. All projects must involve or be created by members of the special needs community and the Special Academy especially seeks artists with disabilities who need financial support to promote and pursue their artistic talents.
